Sir Trevor Garland, has a long history with the Solomon Islands, being the Consul General for the Australian High Commission in the Solomon Islands since 1994. Sir Trevor Garland is also coordinator of the Solomon Islands St Vincent’s tertiary patients referral program, that retrieves and provides medical treatment at St Vincent’s hospital for Solomon Islanders. Sir Trevor has also been adviser to the Australian Catholic University in undergraduate health programs to the Pacific Islands Trade and Investment Commission, and received an Order of Australia, Member of the Order (AM) 1991, Order of the Solomon Islands, Member of the Order (SIM) 1993, Cross of the Solomon Islands (CSI) 2009, Knight Commander of the British Empire (KBE) 2010 for his work and dedication to the people of the Solomon Islands. In his spare time Sir Trevor is also a keen organist for The Cathedral Singers with an interest in organ restoration. In June 2017 Sir Trevor launched the not for profit chairtable organisation “The Solomon Foundation”.
