Kirsten is a registered nurse who plans to volunteer in the Solomon Islands in 2020. Kirsten, brings a diverse set of skills, having previously worked in the Solomon Islands as a RAMSI police mentor and peacekeeper for two years between 2004 and 2006. During this time, she frequently liaised with provincial hospitals and local health clinics and gained a sound understanding of the health system in the Solomon Islands. For the past five years Kirsten has worked extensively alongside mental health clinicians as a team member of the Police, Ambulance and Clinical Early Response (PACER) unit responding to acute mental health episodes in the community. In October 2019 Kirsten retired from her main occupation as a police officer and now is more freed up to volunteer in the South Pacific.
