Prof Robert Fitridge is a vascular surgeon and clinical professor from Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide with a particular interest in the management of diabetic foot complications. Prof Fitridge is a member of the International Working group for the diabetic foot, which develops guidelines for the management of the diabetic foot internationally. Prof Fitridge is a DAISI member who volunteer at National Referral Hospital (NRH) in Honiara, from 27th Oct – 2nd Nov 2018 teaching various aspects of podiatry and surgery related to management of the diabetic foot. Since this visit, a number of diabetic foot clinics have been established. Preventing and managing diabetic foot injuries is now a major focus and priority for DAISI.
