DAISI receives no funding from Government, with all surgeons and specialists, nurses and allied health professionals paying their own flights and accommodation and working voluntarily.
As you can imagine, with several trips a year necessary, this represents quite a significant financial burden to all our volunteers.
If you would like to sponsor a specialist physician, surgeon, anaesthetist, nurse or allied health professional on a future one week trip to the South Pacific then please contact us or complete the online Sponsor A Volunteer form:
$700 will cover accommodation
$1,800 will cover flights
$2,500 will cover both flights and accommodation.
Each sponsor will be provided a detailed report on how the money was spent and the lives affected by their generosity. DAISI is also registered as a not for profit, tax-deductible charity registered with the Australian taxation Office, with all donors receiving a tax-deductible receipt.
