DAISI’s Annual Charity Ball will be held Saturday 14th November 2020. It will be a Summer Solstice fancy dress theme, with a prize for the person with the best “Flower Crown” , and Fancy Dress outfit..
During Summer Solstice festivities it is customary in traditional Nordic & Celtic culture to garnish the hair or wear a colourful woven head piece or crown (wreath) made of flowers. The Flower Crown can be worn by both men and women.
For the more courageous!
Those feeling a bit more courageous who want to take the whole “Summer Solstice Fancy Dress” theme to the next level, might consider Medieval Nordic or Celtic dress, or even wearing your own Stone Henge Druidic cape! It’s also a chance to go nuts with the mascara and facial paint with Celtic and Nordic facial designs! You may choose to dress up as a character such as Hermione Granger or Dumbledore from Harry Potter, Gandalf, Thrandruil, or Ethereal from the Hobit, or Cersia or Daenerys from Game of Thrones.
For the unimaginative
For those who feel uncomfortable wearing a Summer Solstice Flower Crown or fancy dress, then formal dress (& black tie) will get you through the ballroom door (but won’t win you any prizes).
