Below is the suggested itinerary for the March/April 2021 trip for the doctors to Sopas & Alotau Hospital.
All volunteers (4 doctors & 3 nurses) depart Brisbane 9:45am Sat 27th March and arrive Mt Hagen 4:50pm (2h25m stopover in Port Moresby)
Nurses returning from Port Moresby direct to Brisbane (i.e. not going to Alotau Hospital), depart Mount Hagen 10:25am Friday 2nd April and depart Port Moresby 3pm Friday 2nd April arriving Brisbane 6:10pm
Doctors have breakfast a Highlanders Hotel and depart Port Moresby 1:10pm arriving Alotau (Gurney Airport) 5pm (1h20m stopover one Port Moresby).
Friday 2nd April doctors check into Masurina Lodge just 3mins walk from Alotau Hospital). It costs AUD $164/night ($410 Kina). Ask for discount through manager Tracey Abel. Email: tracey.abel@masurina.com.pg
Saturday 3rd April doctors meet with Hospital staff and conduct laparoscopic workshop?
Sunday 4th April doctors depart Gurney airport 10:20am, arriving Brisbane 4:30pm
