Strong Island Foundation is an association with currently 10 members started in 2012 by Dr James Fink (physician from Bond University, Australia) that aims to work alongside community leaders to provide support to the local community in Kirakira, Makira Island, Solomon Islands to advance health, education, and infrastructure.
This ongoing partnership involved students from Bond University’s Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine, the Faculty of Society and Design, the Kirakira Hospital, Provincial Government, local schools, and the local community. The purpose of this partnership is to help address and reverse the disparities between the developing and developed nations.
