This gynae trip to Gizo Hospital in the far Western Province of the Solomon Islands was planned to be one week from 17th – 25th September 2023, and to involve head gynaecologist Dr Supuni Kapurabandara from Westmead Public Hospital, along with one Gynae fellow (Dr Anousha Woods), two gyane registrars (Dr Rebecca Li and Dr Emily Stevenson), and two anaesthetists (Dr Steven Deluca and Dr David Hately). This trip was approved almost a year in advance by the Solomon Islands Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) as one of eight DAISI trips to the Solmon Islands this year, but unfortunately was cancelled on 27th July 2023 by the Solomon Island’s Ministry Of Health and Medical Services citing ”internal issues”
