red text = volunteer not yet confirmed (please email confirmation of your intent to volunteer to staff@daisi.com.au)
black text = volunteer’s medical application form or nursing application form, necessary supporting documents & curriculum vitae have not yet been received by DAISI (please email to staff@daisi.com.au)
blue text = application sent, pending approval from Solomon Islands Registry Board
green text = Good to go! Volunteer’s registration in Solomon Islands either not required or has already been approved

This four day trip was organised by General Surgeon Dr Elvis Japhleth, who works at Enga Provincial Hospital and Sopas District Hospital in the PNG Highlands. It was the first DAISI visit to the PNG Highlands, and involved meeting with the CEO and Chair of Enga Pronvincial Health, and the Medical Director  of Sopas Hospital.

The DAISI team consisted of Biomedical Engineer Mr Mark Taffa and nurse Roshini McKay, and general  surgeon Dr Gary McKay. The DAISI team arrived Mt Hagen (Kagamuga) airport 4:15pm Friday 9th November. Then a 1.5 hour drive to Sopas District Hospital with a welcome reception from 7pm – 9pm. Saturday 10th Nov began with a ward round at 7am at Sopas Hospital and all day surgery from 9-5pm at Sopas Hospital. In the evening DAISI volunteers were treated to a cultural dinner attended by all the Heads of Departments and Surgical Medical Officers, followed by a DAISI presentation by Dr Gary McKay. Sunday 11th Nov began with ward round at 7am, with all day surgery from 8-1pm, and a Wabag tour from 1-5pm of the Enga Provincial Hospital, teachers college, school of nursing and the New Enga Provincial Hospital building site. The DAISI team departed Mt Hagen airport 10am Monday 12th  November.
